Registration of Foreign Services Providers

Foreign professional service providers must register and present their technical or professional qualifications as a guarantee, to be able to operate temporarily in the Dominican Republic.

The creation of such register was decided by the Dominican Consumer Protection Institute (“Pro Consumidor”) Resolution 03-2011 of July 21st of 2011, pursuant to article 53 of the Dominican Republic Constitution related to Consumer Rights and will allow for the registration of information from foreign professional service providers which may be disclosed to consumers and users and to Dominican authorities if necessary.

The register shall be made in addition to any other requirement established pursuant to the legal norms or regulations existing in the Dominican Republic and will serve to the Foreign Trade and Commercial Treaties Administration (DICOEX) to evaluate in a more effective manner the impact of commercial agreements in the area of cross border services.
